One GreenQR Link QR can open one GreenQR Link page with one or several destination choices. Visitors open the page and choose a destination. See QR Code for Multiple Links for the basic mechanism. The planning below concerns the product in the customer’s hands.
What Must Stay Printed
Essential information should not automatically move behind a QR. Depending on the product, keep its identity, essential safety information, legally required information, and instructions that must be immediately available printed where appropriate.
A readable fallback URL or contact method may provide another route to information when scanning is difficult. Legal labeling requirements vary and should be handled separately; this article is about planning linked resources, not determining what a product label legally requires.
When One Direct Resource May Be Simpler
If the main post-purchase task is opening one setup guide or manual, a direct destination may be simpler than a page of unrelated choices. A landing page adds a selection step before the customer reaches that resource.

When Several Related Resources May Make Sense
Several choices may be useful when they serve distinct but related needs for the same product. Include a resource because it helps with a relevant task, not simply because your business has the link available.
In the illustrative appliance example below, setup instructions, care guidance, and an existing support page address different questions about the same model. They are external resources; the GreenQR Link page provides destination choices.
Illustrative Product Example
A small appliance package keeps the product name and model, essential safety information, and core operating instructions printed. A prompt beside the QR says “Scan for detailed setup, care, and help.”
The QR opens a GreenQR Link page with links to the manufacturer’s existing detailed setup guide, care instructions, and support page for that model. Essential information remains available without scanning, while the linked resources provide additional detail.
These resources belong together because they support different tasks for the same appliance. The limitation is ongoing accuracy: a guide may be replaced, a support address may move, or new instructions may apply only to a later model. Someone must check that the links still serve the product identified on the package.
This is an illustrative example, not a customer case study or result.
Keep Product and Model Relevance
Linked resources should match the exact product or model on the package. A future update should not silently send old packaging to unrelated product information, even if the new destination is useful for a newer product.
When product generations change, old packaging may remain in homes, stores, warehouses, or resale circulation. Check the printed product identity and scan prompt before replacing a destination. The QR page should remain relevant to what that packaging promises.
Plan for Packaging Longevity
Packaging may remain in circulation for months or years. Online manuals, videos, support pages, and stores can move or disappear during that time. Old packaging may outlive the current product page.
Assign responsibility for checking the resources and keeping appropriate information available for older products. A successful scan today does not guarantee future page or destination availability.
Understand Conditional Updates
Existing link blocks can be edited or removed. Destination content can change while a printed QR remains usable only if the QR still opens the same available GreenQR Link page URL. Updating page content does not visually change the printed QR image.
Keep External Services Clear
GreenQR Link may link to existing external manuals, support pages, warranty information, videos, stores, review pages, contact pages, and similar resources. Linking to them does not mean GreenQR Link hosts or operates those services.
A warranty-information link is not warranty management, and a support-page link is not support ticketing inside GreenQR Link. Check that each external destination provides the information or service described by its label.
Maintenance Check
Open the connected page and follow each external destination. Confirm that the product and model still match, remove broken or outdated resources, and check whether old packaging contains assumptions that no longer hold. Verify that any printed fallback URL or contact method still works.
See Smart QR Landing Pages for organizing and maintaining useful destination links.
Test on the Actual Package
Test the final printed size on the actual package material. Curves, glossy surfaces, folds, seams, and small print areas can affect scanning. Check the finished package under realistic lighting, then open the page and follow the links to the correct product resources.
This is general packaging guidance, not a built-in GreenQR Link testing feature. See Custom QR Codes for practical preparation and scan testing.
Choose Resources That Fit the Product
If several related resources belong behind one package QR, GreenQR Link can provide one page and QR for that setup.
